Train A Girl Uganda (TAGU); Empowering the Girl Child to Own Her Future.
The idea for the establishment of the girl-focused organization Train A Girl Uganda (TAGU) emerged in 2018; it was established in September 2020. The founding members of Train a Girl Uganda (TAGU) were inspired to create a nonprofit organization to further the noble cause by their love for serving mankind, their commitment to gender equality, and their desire to empower girls and women.
In order to fulfill the aforementioned passion, the founding members reached out to girls in less affluent rural communities, refugee camps, rural schools, and orphanages, encouraging them to pursue their goals and succeed while also giving them various dignity kits and reading materials to support their education and inspiration.

TAGU was founded to address a variety of community issues, and it first began operations in the Adjumani district with initiatives focusing on orphanages and a few rural schools there. Since then, it has been operating for roughly a year, with the main initiatives being girl empowerment projects in schools and orphanages as well as career, self-worth, and self-discovery mentoring. Through a series of counseling and guiding sessions, these activities are intended to help girls enhance their self-esteem and become aware of their strengths, talents, and abilities. They will then use these insights to create life and career plans and carry out particular tasks aimed at reaching objectives. Additionally, the events offer a forum for discussion about gender equality, lifestyle choices, health, education, and personal cleanliness.
